About

Tykese Brodnax is the founder of UniverCity Family CDC. UniverCity was birthed from a traumatic childhood that was full of despair, neglect, and adversity.  Tykese was determined not to be a product of her environment.  Through the help of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Tykese’s determination, and the many mentors whom God placed in Tykese life she was able to overcome the various challenges that she faced.  It is the goal of Tykese to share with others her story of hope and how to overcome adversity.  Tykese prays that her passion to positively impact individuals and families of MEM will inspire others to join her.

Our History

UniverCity Family CDC is a nonprofit organization that was established in 2016. UFCDC serves and primarily focuses its outreach efforts on the Raleigh/Frayser area.  We provide a safe haven to facilitate growth and provide resources that bring aid to everyday life struggles.  UFCDC as an organization is willing to meet families and individuals where they are.  UniverCity travels to various low-income apartments throughout the summer months delivering nutritious meals to families.  Adopt local schools in the Raleigh community to provide an extra level of support.  Sponsor local organization for CACFP and SFSP.  Partnered with Memphis Grizzlies to allow underserved children the opportunity to experience attending Memphis Grizzlies basketball games along with connecting with the local partners such as Kroger’s, Wal-Mart, Walgreen, Book Nook, Literacy Mid-South, No Kid Hungry, and Dollar General to connect families with needed resources, services, and programs.
